Irish referendum? Vote NO for growth and prosperity

Yesterday I was equivocal today I am sure, Ireland must vote No to the fiscal compact in the forthcoming referendum.

The next few months will be crucial in Irish politics but not because of the referendum on the fiscal compact. It will be the attitude and stance of Irish politicians that will be crucial for their futures.

The fact is that the likely, almost sure, winner of May's French presidential election will be Francois Hollande. Based on current polls even if Hollande went on holidays for the next two months he will still beat Sarkozy.

One of Hollande's key platforms is that he will not sign up to this fiscal compact unless there is also a European ideal and plan for growth hardwired into the treaty changes. Hollande wants to renegotiate France's treaties with Germany and therefore the EU. He wants growth not cuts and as the second most powerful country in the Euro-zone he will put Merkel and Sarkozy's plans in their grave.

Therefore, Irish politicians who peg their credibility on Merkel's, Lutheran, former Commie austerity nonsense, by advocating a Yes to austerity vote, will be running against an inevitability.

That inevitability is that this fiscal compact is dead in the water no matter what way Ireland votes. However by the time Ireland votes it will be clear who has won the French election and if it is Hollande then a No vote will be a No brainer for Ireland. However politicians who say vote yes today will have a hard job trying to say vote no in two months when the issue is clearer than crystal.

Irish politicians who peg their credibility on advocating a Yes vote today will show that they have no foresight, no broad view of Europe and therefore are not worthy of being elected representatives of the Irish people. Many loose cannons will advocate a no vote for various reasons but that does not mean they are qualified to replace the present useless government run by a gormless plank, Enda Kenny and a discredited Labour party.

Some intelligent reasons to vote No are

1/ German economic strategy helped create this crisis and Merkel's fiscal ideas will compound it for at least a decade further than necessary, voting No will add our voice in opposition to her plans

2/ By voting NO Ireland will strengthen Francois Hollande's position on renegotiating the treaty and inputting a guarantee that Europe will seek growth not cuts.

It is likely that several centre right governments in Europe will welcome this and with Sarko gone will breath a sigh of relief that they are not being badgered. With Merkel being pushed to to one side it will be a case of Germany leaving the Euro-zone if they don't like it rather bullying Ireland and the rest of the European nations.

3/ rejecting the treaty changes has NO bearing on Ireland's continued membership of the Euro-zone.

4/ A strong No vote will help restore our national dignity in the face of bullying and incomprehensible political decisions by both the last FF/Green government and the current even more rudderless Fine Gael Labour one.

5/ Just because you can ....

Vote No and be on the side of the growth compact advocated by Francois Hollande.

Vote No and restore our national pride and Ireland's place at the heart of Europe.

UK introduces "arbiet macht frei" schemes for the disabled and unemployed.

In a form reminiscent of Hitler's forced labour camps and death camps the Uk government have introduced forced labour for no pay on the unemployed which they plan to extend to the disabled. Arbeit Macht Frei (Work Makes Free) was the sign that hung over the gates of the Auschwitz death camp. It seems Cameron and his Lib Dem allies have decided that this is the policy to pursue in the UK . The policy will apply to the terminally ill and others

The policy could mean that those on employment and support allowance who have been placed in the work-related activity group (Wrag) could be compelled to undertake work experience for charities, public bodies and high-street retailers. For the unemployed the situation now is that to collect their meagure allowence in the UK they may have to work 30 hours unpaid on night duty packing shelves for Tescos. A father-of-three who was found with a microscopic speck of cannabis stuck to the bottom of one of his shoes has been sentenced to four years in a Dubai prison.

Keith Brown, a council youth development officer, was travelling through the United Arab Emirates on his way back to England when he was stopped as he walked through Dubai's main airport.

A search by customs officials uncovered a speck of cannabis weighing just 0.003g - so small it would be invisible to the naked eye and weighing less than a grain of sugar - on the tread of one of his shoes.

Dubai International Airport is a major hub for the Middle East and thousands of Britons pass through it every year to holiday in the glamorous beach and shopping haven.

But many of those tourists and business travellers are likely to be unaware of the strict zero-tolerance drugs policy in the UAE.

One man has even been jailed for possession of three poppy seeds left over from a bread roll he ate at Heathrow Airport. Painkiller codeine is also banned.

If suspicious of a traveller, customs officials can use high-tech equipment to uncover even the slightest trace of drugs.

Mr Brown was detained and arrested in September last year and has been held in a cell with three other men in the city prison ever since.

This week the youth worker, who has two young children and a partner at home in Smethwick, West Midlands, was sentenced to four years in prison.

A 25-year-old Briton who was found with a similar speck in one pocket as he arrived on holiday has been awaiting sentence since November.

Meanwhile a Big Brother TV executive has so far been held without charge for five days after being arrested for possessing the health supplement melatonin.

The authorities claim to have discovered 0.01g of hashish in his luggage.

Last night Mr Brown's brother Lee said his case "defied belief".

"For that sort of amount common sense should prevail, from where it was found it was obviously something that had been crushed on the floor - it could have come from anywhere."

Rastafarian Mr Brown had been returning from a short trip to Ethiopia, where one of his children lives and where he owns property.

He was travelling with his partner Imani, who was also stopped and detained for more than a week.

Normally he flew direct to and from the UK, but decided to stop off in Dubai.

"He was incensed when he called me," said driving instructor Lee, 57. "It would be funny if the circumstances weren't so unpleasant.

"Bugs are crawling out of his mattress when he's sleeping. His family are frantic with worry and can't call him."

Last night campaign group Fair Trials International advised visitors to Dubai and Abu Dhabi to "take extreme caution".

Chief Executive Catherine Wolthuizen said: "We have seen a steep increase in such cases over the last 18 months.

"Customs authorities are using highly sensitive new equipment to conduct extremely thorough searches on travellers and if they find any amount - no matter how minute - it will be enough to attract a mandatory four-year prison sentence."

Mrs Wolthuizen added: "We even have reports of the imprisonment of a Swiss man for 'possession' of three poppy seeds on his clothing after he ate a bread roll at Heathrow.

Mr Dalton, from Gravesend, on Kent was with two friends when he was stopped and asked to empty his pockets.

Officials found 0.03g of cannabis in a small amount of fluff. He is currently on trial and if convicted, is likely receive a four-year prison sentence.

Last night his brother Peter, 26, told how it took 24 hours to find out why he had been stopped.

"As we understand, the amount of cannabis was barely visible to the human eye and was at the bottom of the pocket of an old pair of jeans.

"He's not a drug user, but he goes clubbing and the speck was so small."

Last week Cat Le-Huy, a London-based German national, was arrested on arrival at the airport.

Mr Le-Huy, 31, head of technology with Big Brother production company Endemol, was arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal drugs after customs officers found melatonin, a health supplement used for jet lag available over the counter both in Dubai and in the US.

Authorities also claim they discovered fragments in one of his bags which they believe to be hashish. Fair Trials International said the amount was 0.01g.

Declan Ganley has finally issued a writ in the High Court in Ireland about the below show. Since then he has claimed all subjects therein are sub judice. In the last week he has recieved a great deal of publicity after co authoring a piece on Federal Europe with Brenden Simms a Cambridge academic and war mongering neo con whose Henry Jackson Society has patrons including ex CIA boss James Woolsey and which is as virulently Islamophobic as Ganley's partners in Europe 2009 were anti Semetic . It will be remembered that Ganley shared an office building in Londonat 128 Mount St, some years back with CIA boss James Woolsey and claimed it was a "coincidence".

London Met used undercover agent Mark Kennedy to infiltrate crowd at Stephen Lawrence inquiry in 1998

The first two killers of Stephen Lawerence were jailed in the UK on 4 Januray and in the media upsurge surrounding the case photographic evidence emerged in the media that the Met while being held as being institutionally racists also infiltrated the crowd of protesters with undercover spies.

The Lawerence case is landmark in many ways, the fact that the family brought a failed private murder prosecution in 1996, the fact that the judicial inquiry, the results of which were published in 1999 declared that London's Metropolitan police was institutionally racist and the fact that the law in England and Wales against double jepordy was changed in 2005, due to the Lawerence case allowed for the two thugs Dobson and Norris to be retried. However in yesterdays Daily Mail a photo published of the thugs who murdered Stephen leaving the Inquiry in 1998 also reveals that the London Metropolitan Police also had infiltrated the crowd of protesters.

In the top left hand corner of the photo above you can see former Police Constable Mark Kennedy who has since been outed as an undercover policeman who used sex and acted in a likely agent provocateur role while infiltrating environmentalist groups.

Declan Ganley's Rivada loses 700K in 2010

I have often said that Ganley is all smoke and mirrors this weeks The Phoenix magazine notes his latest business failures as well as court actions to recover 82 K owed to companies after his 2009 Libertas scam

In the High Court, an outdoor poster company called Titan Outdoor Ireland Ltd (now in liquidation) is suing Ganley for around €70,000 it claims to be owed for providing advertising related services to Libertas during the 2009 anti-Lisbon Treaty campaign. That case is due to be heard early next year after the Motion for Judgment was adjourned last week. Meanwhile, in Ganley’s own backyard in Galway, the Circuit Court is to hear an action by a company called
Adlantic.ie Sales Ltd, which provides promotion material such as embroidered
jackets, t-shirts and baseball hats. Controlled by Joe Kavanagh, Adlantic claims to be owed over €12,000 by Ganley/Libertas in relation to the 2009 campaign.These court actions aren’t the only headaches for Declan Ganley.

Earlier this year, Ganley Corporate Management Ltd – owned by a West Indies company, Golden Bay Holdings Ltd, where the directors are listed as Declan Ganley and his brother Sean – filed accounts showing accumulated losses standing at over €2.5m at the end of 2010.

Things aren’t looking much better for the Libertas founder in his Rivada Networks Ltd company, where recently filed accounts show accumulated losses of over €700,000 at the end of 2010. These accounts also state that Ganley now has no shares in the company’s parent, the US telecoms operation, Rivada Networks International LLC, where he previously held a 13% stake and where he is currently listed as chairman and ceo. (Other directors include Michael Jackson, the former deputy secretary at the Department of Homeland Security and Gen Richard Myers,former chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff.)

Politics.ie DDOS atacks by Occupy Politics.ie

It appears that someone is not happy with the Irish political bulliten board politics.ie. Since 18 November they have been victims of a DDOS Attack that has repeatedly crashed the site.

For many internet users and especially users of Irish political boards the idea that politics.ie "are victims" will raise a wry smile. In the past the site has used a corrupt political cadre as suposedly impartial moderators and its part owner (he sold a chunk a few years back) David Cochrane, was an employee of Declan Ganley and a founder of the far right Libertas party (now defunct).

Though these DDOS attacks deny politics.ie and its users the ability to post their views, this blogger can attest www.Politic.ie is well up to its own dirty tricks and has allowed a far right cadre to run their own fiefdoms on their board. It is a haven for far right and racist posters amongst Irish boards.

Though Politics.ie have changed their servers the DDOS may continue as no motive has been established for the attacks. It may well be an ordinary poster disgusted with their partisan modding and one-sided political agenda as informed by their cadre of ultra right wing moderators and their favoring of posters formarily aligned to the Libertas Party.

Or perhaps someone has decided to #Occupy politics.ie as their leading cadre support the 1%.

Today an elected member of Ireland's main governmnet party Fine Gael, Darren Scully, a councilor in Nass Co Kildare, issued a declaration that he was refusing to deal with "black" Africans in his capacity as the Major of, Dublin satellite town, Naas in Co. Kildare. By this evening he had resigned as Mayor though there is no word yet on whether he had resigned as an elected public representative. The Scully episode may seem like an isolated incident for the hard right party Fine Gael, if one has a short memory.

However Enda Kenny, pictured above with Scully, has not too long ago had his own problems regarding race relations. In 2002 he told a group of journalists a joke with the word "Nigger" in the punchline. According to The Guardian

The family of Patrice Lumumba, the assassinated first Prime Minister of Congo, have demanded an apology from the Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny, who called the revered African liberation hero a 'nigger' in a racist joke.

Disgust at Kenny's recent remarks spread last night to Britain, where he was condemned by race campaigners, including the powerful Commission for Racial Equality watchdog and British political parties.

Not only did Enda Kenny brand the African libation hero a "nigger" he also claimed the joke he told had been relaid to him by a Moroccan barman 'with shiny teeth'. Despite a member of Ireland's coalition Labour Party making a police complaint about Scully under Ireland's incitement to hatred legislation, it still behooves the Labour Party to further distance themselves from the Fine Gael party by abandoning their coalition with the lead party in government.

For those of you who don't know their history; Fine Gael is the successor party of Cumann na nGaedheal and was founded on 8 September 1933 following the merger of its parent party Cumann na nGaedheal with the National Centre Party and the National Guard, a.k.a " The Blueshirts". These are the seeds of today's racist and lead party of Irish governance.
The Blue Shirts were led originally by the Hitler and Mussolini loving Eoin O'Duffy frorm 1933-4. O'Duffy later led his Blue Shirts to fight with General Franco with support from Adolf Hitler in the Spanish Civil War 1936-39.

Historically, neither Kenny nor Scully's attitude nor remarks come as any surprise. What is surprising is that the Irish Labour party, whose cabinet members spent the morning discussing what social welfare cuts they would make in the forthcoming budget, choose to remain in government with such a party. Yet again; The Labour Party is backing up a hard right racist party in a coalition governmnet in Ireland.

It must be noted that despite modern Fine Gael's attempts to distance themselves from the Blue Shirts, racist attitudes abide in their ranks and indeed in the words and actions of their leader: our Taoiseach Enda Kenny.
It must be noted that Fine Gael's longest serving TD (M.P) the late Oliver J Flnagan is globally notorious for his entrenched anti-Semitic views. Though his most famous outburst came in 1943, it was not long (1954) before he was wooed by and welcomed into the Fine Gael ranks becoming their longest ever continuously serving T.D.. Flanagan never changed his political views. His son Charles Flanagan is a currnet Fine Gaael TD.

In his father's 1943 maiden speech in the Dail (Ireland's parliament) O J Flanagan said:

How is it that we do not see any of these [Emergency Powers] Acts directed against the Jews, who crucified Our Saviour nineteen hundred years ago, and who are crucifying us every day in the week? How is it that we do not see them directed against the Masonic Order? How is it that the I.R.A. is considered an illegal organisation while the Masonic Order is not considered an illegal organisation? [...] There is one thing that Germany did, and that was to rout the Jews out of their country. Until we rout the Jews out of this country it does not matter a hair's breadth what orders you make. Whereas Fine Gael have attempted to claim to no longer hold such reprehensible views today's events and Kenny's recent racist outburst speak volumes. The legacy of Eoin O'Duffy, the Blue Shirts and Oliver J. Flanagen are alive and kicking especially today. Yet remarkably, Enda Kenny is the political leader of the Irish Nation because of the support afforded to Fine Gael by the supposed champions of the working class and the working people, the "socialist" Labour Party who are under the leadership of former Marxist and former Offical Sinn Fein member, Eamon Gilmore.

It is time for the Irish Labour Party to stand by their alleged principles and leave government or be regarded as the standard bearers a racist elite.
