One that brings a smile to a cross-party array of faces is Declan Ganley. Some day we might know where his money came from, what he spent campaigning or what he stood for. Certainly, his ability to attack opponents and dig around in the dirt for tactics will be hard to match. Well it has been an active year and yes we did destroy the Libertas party. However 2010 will see the cadre water themselves down and adhere to the extreme fringes of more main stream groups while they hone their skills. Expect many fronts emerging that profess to be the clean new transparent brand, and expect more issues from the brown shirt grassroots like Taxi Drivers for Change and their various offshoots.

People Korps (himself) thinks that more attention should be given to these "grassroots" movements in terms of reseacrh into their ideolgies and membership.
Having spent several hours lingering amid the striking taxi drivers last year I came away with a clearer understanding of their motives and organisation.

Likewise with Libertas, by rubbing shoulders with them; one gets a stronger sense of who they think they are.

However, I am about to embark on a new direction , aiding in recession survival. I will be providing recipes, shopping hints and recesssion tips on the great (because of the people involved) new Irish political forum TOK

SIPO report on Irish European election Libertas spend c.500k, Shelbourne/ Legatus's Garrett Kellegher's wife Meave donates to Libertas

Sipo have published their report into the European elections which is an interesting read. Those of you who followed the Legatus Libertas saga on this blog(use google seasrch box on right of screen to search for all posts) will note that Garret Kellegher's wife Meave was a finacial supporter of Libertas candidate Caroline Simons. Libertas candidate Raymond O'Malley failed to give the statutory declaration by the due date and faces having his case referred to the Director of Public Prosecutions should he not make returns by 4 January. Declan Ganley declared no donations.

Declan Ganley recieved 38,092.14 from public funds as he had achieved enough votes to qualify, the other two Libertas candidates failed to recieve any state expenses due to their abject failure at the polls.

Libertas were the fourth highest spending party in the elecions despite running only 3 candidates and having no party structure to speak of outside of pr men, spin doctors and holy joe fanatics.

Despite spending nearly half the budget of the two main parties it is reassuring to see that the c.500,000k spent by Libertas did not buy Irish voters, nor did the Libertas smear campaign that passed for an election campaign have broad appeal. The campaign did highlight Libertas's desire for a green card system to be introduced in Ireland that would forse Irish workers to need a Visa to work North or South of the border, in the UK or on main land Europe and its kinks with uktra Catholic, anti-democratic unelected elites

Politics.ie problems! Security and privacy breached? Open letter from banned poster to David Cochrane

Politics.ie owner, David Cochrane, is under pressure to explain his recent actions on his site. One of Ireland's most respected board members was banned this weekend along with dozens of other posters.

Re: Privacy and Intimidation Issues on Politics.ie

You recently invited Politics.ie members to contact you on any on-site issues. Some issues have come up recently in relation to privacy policy on Politics.ie and also in relation to threatening and intimidating behaviour on site. I have previously referred to these issues on your “Stop the Trolling” thread.

P.ie operates as an open political forum in which members can opt to post anonymously.
P.ie holds data provided by members (user names and associated email addresses) which is given solely for the purposes of registration, notifications and logging in. The forum is generally understood to offer an opportunity for open political discussion with members operating on equal terms.

Privacy on a discussion board can never be 100% guaranteed, as there’s always the possibility of hacking or leakage. There have been several incidences of “outings” on P.ie and there have been accidental releases of information from other discussion forums.

However, wilful, systemic or malicious breach of members privacy is another matter and would not in my opinion be acceptable. All websites that hold personal data are required to have a Privacy Statement. The absence of a Privacy Statement on Politics.ie in my opinion should be of concern to you and to all members.

Privacy controls on P.ie are unclear. In the last three weeks I have been told by more than one poster on P.ie that the name I used in registering my membership has been “bandied about” by a group or clique of site members (which included at least one moderator), in a hostile and physically threatening context.

In addition, a member of the same group used that same name in an abusive pm to me, clearly with the intention to intimidate and harrass. This same member has (I’m told) threatened violence against me in writing. I asked him several times on two threads how he obtained my registration name and he refused to reply.

It also appears possible (from a recent post) that a member of the same group, who is not a moderator, has had access to members’ private messages

Yet another member of the former user-group has recently claimed that one of this group is a Guard who knows the “real” identity of another site member. Questions about both Guard role and site privacy arise, if this is true. If untrue, it was an unacceptable untruth by the poster, intended to intimidate.

All of this information was provided on site and can be substantiated. I have kept screen grabs of the relevant posts for my records.

I also note that you propose in your recent “Stopping Trolls” Opening Post to involve “security” and the Gardai in the internal management and scrutiny of the Politics.ie website. While I support efforts to reduce trolling and don’t support any illegal behaviour, I would like to enquire if you believe this will be compatible with the privacy of members’ data.

P.ie members, myself included, have supported, and continue to support, your efforts to overcome the various problems P.ie has been experiencing. I am sure that these issues can be solved if an open and serious effort is made to deal with them. I am requesting you to take steps to introduce a Privacy Statement and policy and to deal with the other issues I’ve raised here in relation to privacy and personal attacks.

As a precaution, I provided this message to a number of Site Members on the understanding that one of them will post it as an OP if I am banned.

I was banned on the evening of 18th December without explanation. I request an
explanation for the banning, the opportunity to respond to any alleged reason and reinstatement of my membership.

The pretext I believe may have been that I had read tweets of a member, dot. II would like to point out that twitter is an open medium ( unless privacy settings are selected) . dot advertises her blog on P.ie, has widely published her blogger identity as being dot and takes every opportunity to maximize the audience of her blogs. Imo any such complaint would be ludicrous beyond belief.

Banned from Politics.ie?

Lots of people have been getting banned in a counterrevolution by the former Libertas cadre and their former founder David Cochrane.

Cochrane spent lat night banning anti Libertas posters across the political spectrum from politics.ie the site he owns.

The bannings followed the online resignation from posting by Libertas employee Alan Kennedy aka Cookimonster on politics.ie. More on this when I have the time to wrote up the sordid affairs that take place in politics.ie re the sites admin and privacy.It seems David could not part with his Libertas buddy and decided to ban all anti Libertas posters from the site.


In the meantime as Machinenation is off line CactusFlower (also banned last night in the lastest attack on debate on politics.ie , a supposed political debating site) has set up a new forum

The Lisbon Treaty comes into effect today however it would be wise to moniter and protect against the disparate groups of loony right wingers who came out of the woodwork to protest against it.
Groups such as COIR and off shoots like Renew must be guarded against.

The Legatus connections with Libertas and Declan Ganley must be fully explored and exposed.

What now for Libertas and the Legatus Christo-taliban?

The Christo-taliban have been defeated but, with the funds at their disposal they will not be gone for long, or at all.
What next for the campaign to moniter and defeat their xenophobic, racist, fascist agenda?

Declan Ganley has now reduced his share of the the warmonger coffin ship company Rivada USA to 13%. Libertas owe more than 300K euro.

A new right-wing "party" to fill the non-void left by the PDs electoral destruction is mooted by Ganley employees who post on Politics.ie. Calls for militias were even made.

Coir have said they may form a political party.

Taxi Drivers for Change and the other Brown shirt cadre of this movemmet are still active.



Vigilence , monitering and documentation of all the COIR, Libertas cadre and leaders is necessary.

Colm KEENA Public Affairs CorrespondentDECLAN GANLEY’S Libertas organisation had income of €1.4 million in 2008, but spent €1.74 million, according to accounts filed in the Companies Registration Office.

The accounts, for the calendar year 2008, show that The Libertas Institute Ltd owed Mr Ganley €243,456 at the end of the period.

The amount owed to him included accrued interest of €23,915.

The accounts state the total interest incurred by Libertas during the year was €23,936, and so indicate no other substantial loans existed.

There is no information in the accounts as to the source of the Libertas funding, other than the mention of the funds loaned from Mr Ganley.

In September of last year Mr Ganley said he had given Libertas a loan of €200,000.

He told The Irish Times that a number of people had given loans, but did not give any figures. He said the remaining money came from donations.

The first Lisbon Treaty referendum was held in June 2008. The Libertas accounts show that it spent €712,947 on advertising during 2008, a further €148,843 on publicity, a further €177,162 on “election/referendum posters, and €79,219 on “other election/referendum material”. These figures total €1,118,171.

In September of last year Mr Ganley told The Irish Times that Libertas had spent “about €800,000” on its referendum campaign against the treaty.

The accounts show that during 2008 Libertas spent €148,368 on consultancy fees, €42,638 on market research, €17,134 on entertaining, €58,650 on transport and travel, €17,134 on legal fees, and €112,294 on office and stationary.

Wages and salaries for the year were €143,581.

Creditors at year’s end were owed €498,724.


The accounts show that Libertas acquired tangible assets with a value of €146,235 during 2008. Depreciation of the fixed assets, which are described as fixtures and fittings and equipment, is given as €54,376.

The accounts for the same company in 2007 showed essentially no activity and no money. The directors of the company are Mr Ganley and Chris Coughlan.

There was extensive correspondence between Libertas and the Standards in Public Office Commission in the wake of the 2008 referendum in relation to the source of the Libertas funding.

The commission sought evidence from Libertas about Mr Ganley’s loan and was supplied with a copy of a loan agreement document which was signed by Mr Ganley’s brother, Seán, on behalf of Libertas, and by Mr Ganley.

…Mr. Klaus, while a 21-year-old student at the University of Economics, Prague, in 1962, was recruited by Czech counterintelligence officers and put to work as a spy against democratic reformers with whom he studied and later worked. For five decades he has concealed a murky past of betrayal and deception.

Codenamed “Vodichka,” Mr. Klaus is said to have been “an avid and willing informant” who reported on the political reliability of his classmates — two of whom were expelled because of the information he provided.

For his cooperation, Mr. Klaus was allowed to travel abroad on research projects –first to Italy in 1966, and three years later to Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y.

Mr. Klaus is understood to have reported to Czech intelligence officers on the activities of Czech opposition groups within the United States during the aftermath of the “Prague Spring” rebellion.

In 1970 Mr. Klaus starred in “Operation Rattrap,” staged by Czech counterintelligence with the assistance of Soviet KGB advisers. Mr. Klaus was publicly named as an “anti-socialist malcontent” and “purged” from the Economic Institute. Its purpose was to pose Mr. Klaus as a “victim” of the regime so he could continue to penetrate dissident circles as a deep-cover mole.

He describes himself as "a European dissident" and the Russian media has welcomed him with open arms. On a state visit this week, the Czech President showed that he is keen to develop economic and personal ties with Moscow — a policy which Hospodářské Noviny remarks is not without its disadvantages.

Václav Klaus' state visit to Russia comes just a few days after he provoked an outcry in Europe by imposing yet another obstacle to his signing of the Lisbon Treaty. In Moscow he told his hosts that he was "seriously concerned by the plan to reinforce European integration."

Klaus is one Czech politician who is not afraid of adopting a strongly pro-Russian stance, unlike Mirek Topolánek's government, which backed a policy of stronger links with the United States until it collapsed in April.

On the occasion of a visit to the United States in September, Klaus declared that Moscow was much less of a threat to the Czech Republic than an over-regulated European Union. In a recent interview with [the neo-conservative American daily] the Washington Times, he averred that "the political system and freedom in Russia is now the highest and the best in the history of Russia in the last two millennia."

When he was prime minister from 1992 to 1997, Václav Klaus generally adopted a pro-western line. It was only after he left the government that he began to explicitly criticize European integration and the United States. This change of course was later confirmed when he expressed his reservations about NATO's bombardment of Yugoslavia in 1999.

It was also during this period that the Russian media first took an interest in him. Today, many Russian journalists actively promote Klaus to the extent that he now occupies much more space in the Russian media than all of the other Eastern European leaders. His statements on "the gratuitous Russophobia" of the Western elites are especially popular with pro-Kremlin journalists, and also with the renowned Russian political analyst Mikhaïl Delyagin, who in a recent article on the Lisbon crisis presented an alleged quote from Klaus, which states that accession to the European Union has resulted in considerable financial losses for the Czech Republic.

"In many respects, Václav Klaus is something of a dinosaur from the period when a bi-polar division prevailed in world politics. Having attempted and failed to carve a pro-western niche for himself — a political role that was occupied by Václav Havel — it was only logical that he should turn towards Russia," remarks political scientist Michael Romancov, a professor at the Metropolitan University of Prague.

Notwithstanding his popularity in the Russian media, the leadership in the Kremlin has no scruples about dispelling any illusions that he may have about his status in international politics. On a previous visit to Russia, Klaus attempted to reassure Vladimir Putin that the American antimissile radar would not be directed towards Russia — an assertion, which amused the Russian Prime Minister, and to which he laughingly replied, "But in any case, you wouldn't have any influence over that." The Czech President was visibly stung by the exchange.

Increasingly rare visits to the West

Medvedev is without a doubt the most important head of state to invite Klaus since he was re-elected. However, he has only rarely been received by his western counterparts on state visits. "In part this is due to the fact that he was so hyperactive after his first election, when he visited a large number of countries, which means that he now has to wait a few years before he is invited again.

However, there is also a more obvious reason: heads of state do not want to invite him now because of his position on European integration," says the Chairman of the Christian democrats and a former Minister for Foreign Affairs, Cyril Svoboda. Ireland is one of the few western countries to have welcomed Klaus on an official visit since his re-election. But even there he managed to fall out with the government by publicly voicing his support for Declan Ganley's anti-Lisbon Libertas movement.

Relations between Klaus and his French opposite number, Nicolas Sarkozy, are particularly fraught, with both heads of state launching regular attacks on each other via the media. Lost recently in December of 2008, Klaus indirectly accused Sarkozy of damaging the European Union. Last year, he traveled to France twice but he did not meet with any political leaders in the course of his visits.

Of oil and nuclear energy

During his visit to Moscow, Václav Klaus "encouraged Russian companies to participate in calls for tender for new units to be added to the Temelín nuclear power station," notes Hospodářské Noviny. According to the Prague business daily, Russian companies voiced their interest in the Czech energy sector at the meeting of the Russian-Czech commission, held in Prague in September, which was attended by Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Zhukov and representatives of Loukoil, Russia's biggest private oil company. The Hospodářské Noviny report is quick to point out that Loukil "was the Russian sponsor of Blue Planet in Green Shackles," Klaus's book in which he dismisses concerns about global warming.

Ganley company reports €2.57 million in losses

The latest bad news from Tuam is that alleged millionaire , Declan Ganley, has reported continuing losses in his GANLEY CORPORATE Management Ltd.
Interesting time for him to start a political party and hire Joe Trippi to help raise funds.
Again People Korps asks, does anyone know if Rivada Networks is a profitable firm? It has big contracts with the US military but what does it cost to run?
Will an Obama led White House continue to give contracts to Rivada, a firm associated with senior figures in G.W. Bush's administration? These included Jack Shaw, a Dick Cheney employee whose activities in Iraq, as well as Ganleys, were dealt with in the book Blood Money by T. Christian Miller as well as the general who led the "War on Terror" Richard Meyers.

Shaw actively campaigned against Obama in the run up to the 2008 US presidential elections.

Ganley management firm posts €2.5m loss

GANLEY CORPORATE Management Ltd, a company associated with anti-Lisbon Treaty campaigner Declan Ganley, had €209,557 in cash on December 31st, 2008, according to accounts filed recently.

The abridged accounts show the company’s accumulated losses at year’s end were €2.57 million, down from €2.59 million the previous year. No profit figure is given in the accounts.

The cash balance at year’s end compared with €14,851 at the previous year’s end. However, creditors due to be paid within one year also increased substantially, to €135,408 at December 31st, 2008, from €16,248 the previous year.

The directors of the company, which is based at Mr Ganley’s home at Moyne Park, Tuam, Co Galway, are Mr Ganley and his brother Seán. The company’s two issued €2 shares are owned by Golden Bay Holdings Ltd, Charlestown, Nevis, West Indies, the company’s ultimate parent, according to the accounts. The Ganley brothers have no interest in the shares of the parent company, the accounts state.

Mr Ganley previously told The Irish Times he uses Ganley Corporate Management for the development of business projects. He owned the company’s shares up to December 31st, 2005.

Ganley Corporate Management was the owner of another Tuam company, Rivada Networks Ltd, in May 2006. By the end of that year, Rivada Networks was the subsidiary of a US company, Rivada Networks LLC, which has telecommunications contracts in the US.
