Ganley pulls the plug on cash for Libertas Sweden

Citing the cost of printing their own ballots for 6000 polling stations as the reason Libertas Sweden have folded.
However Libertas Nein danke can confirm that Sarah Rinkel, 58, psykolog, Göteborg chairman of the Gothenburg Radio Association (http://www.gnf.nu/) and director of the Jewish Community in Gothenburg (http://www.judiskaforsamlingen.se/)
was recently contacted by concerned individuals who pointed out the anti Semitic nature of Libertas.


In what seemed to be a cynical attempt to distance Libertas from allegations of supporting anti-semitism, Libertas Sweden announced that Sarah Rinkel, a local radio broadcaster and a leading member of Gothenburg's Jewish community was be a candidate for Libertas Sweden.

Libertas Sweden have pulled out of the election.

Libertas Nein Danke believes that it was in fact internal disputes over fascist tendencies that has pulled Libertas Sweden apart. Remember that Ganley's people offered one party 1 million euro to change their name to Libertas ealier this year.

Libertas is denying claims it paid candidates in other countries to run in the EU elections this summer.

It follows claims that some candidates had been paid up to a million euro.

Libertas is running 300 candidates in 24 different countries in the elections on June 5.

Speaking at the launch of the party's Irish MEP candidates in Dublin today, Declan Ganley said the reports are false and designed to take away from the party's message.

On 30 April Irish National Radio aired a report on Libertas across Europe by Philip Boucher-Hayes followed by Declan Ganley and Eoin Ryan discussing Libertas. Ganley finds it difficult not to act like a mad man and presenter Pat Kenny continually has to tell him to let Eoin Ryan speak. Ganley has absolutely no manners. He was completely thrown by the revelations that he had offered personally offered a Dutch politics 800,000 euro to run for Libertas and Mach in the Czech Republic 500,000 euro. Ganley claimed he could not remember making the offers but as was the case with the Swedish Party June List Junilistan it was the politicians belief that the cash was for them solely. ganley then attempted to say that the funds were for a full campaign and he kept saying that Libertas are running 22 candidates in Holland.
The problem with Declan Ganley is that no one believes a word he says. He shouts people down rather than answering questions. He also had his facts wrong about EU.

Libertas splits yet another political party PiS in Poland

Libertas have caused several parties to split so far in Europe including the MPF in France and Junilistan, in Sweden. It appeared that they had split the League of Polish Families until it was revealed this week that the far right party with a neo Nazi linked youth wing was in fact joining forces with Libertas. Now they have attempted to split Poland's PiS.

As none of these splits have resulted in positive poll results for Libertas it begs the question what prompts politicians to leave their parties and join Libertas?

Libertas Wants PiS to Split

Wojciech Mojzesowicz met today with Deputy Head of Libertas Poland Artur Zawisza, as “Wprost” has learnt. According to our sources Libertas wants to convince Mojzesowicz to make Law and Justice split before the elections to the European Parliament. The odds are against him though.
"It’s true that I met with Artur Zawisza. I have every right to speak to my colleagues, whom I value and with whom I used to cooperate," said Mojzesowicz to “Wprost”. Mojzesowicz left PiS yesterday. Also Zawisza confirmed that he had met with Mojzesowicz, but he did not want to reveal the topic of their conversation. Mojzesowicz swore that he did not intend to run from the Libertas candidate list to the European Parliament. “I am not going anywhere. I am a peasant and I am not going to leave Poland,” he said.

As "Wprost" discovered, politicians from the movement related to Declan Ganley would like to make PiS split. Today Zawisza sounded Mojzesowicz out about the possibility of making more PiS MPs leave their parliamentary grouping. “It would be a serious blow to Kaczyński before the election,” said our source from Libertas. “Wprost” has learnt that it would be very difficult for Mojzesowicz to make PiS split. In the Law and Justice parliamentary grouping there are not any MPs that would be associated to him.

"Wiadomości" reported today that PiS Senator Ryszard Bender is taking into account the possibility of running from the Libertas candidate list to the European Parliament.

Declan Ganley lies again and turns The Maltese Falcon into the Eagle of his Fourth Reich

When we think of Malta we may think of Humphrey Bogart and Mary Astor in The Maltese Falcon. The Maltese Falcon we are presented with today is more reminiscent of the German Eagle of the Third Reich. It presented to us that the less than comely couple, Declan Ganley and Mary Gauci. Gauci, "a civil servant who recently resigned from her post as deputy leader of the right-wing Azzjoni Nazzjonal party".

In fact the Irish Times left out one word in their description of Azzjoni Nazzjonal.

They are a far right party.

The Azzoni Nazzonal or National Action's launch was reported by Malta Today under the headline "Dismal launch for Josie’s far-right party". The party was launched with invectives which were were "unambiguously anti-foreign, staunchly pro-life and pro-family, calling for greater public order, and appealing to “real Maltese” to come forward."

As well as supporting hunting and tradition one leader said "“My personal opinion is that the values of this new party should be based on the natural order and the Catholic order,”"


So Ganley has picked off the deputy leader of this group of far right nationalist and is standing her as a Libertas candidate in Malta. This adds one more xenophobic, racist extreme right winger to Ganley's collection of Europe's political scum.

To celebrate his latest accusistion Ganley in waht is becoming his typical electioneering style lied about the Maltese Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi stating that he had signed the Lisbon Treaty without reading it.
"Mr Gonzi, however, dismissed the Libertas founder’s claims as “completely untrue” and “totally absurd”, according to reports in the Maltese media"

When asked whether Libertas was right-wing, Mr Ganley said it could not be categorised into right or left, and that its candidates came from diverse backgrounds.

"We are very moderate, centrist and pro-democracy," he said.

Libertas had headed the campaign against the Lisbon Treaty, but it still labels itself as a pro-European party.

"If Brussels can ignore the democratic voice of France, the Netherlands and Ireland, how much influence can Malta have?" Mr Ganley argued, in a reference to the referendums that were won by the 'no' camp.

Ms Gauci explained that in her experience as a public officer working with the Finance Ministry, she had witnessed "sad" things which she could not disclose.

She said the scourge of illegal immigration had become a national crisis, and that Malta needed to put its foot down with the EU. However, she stopped short of giving any concrete proposals. Times of Malta

Maltese politicians should be asking how much Gauci cost Ganley. Remember Sweden? The 1 mil euro offer from Libertas to Junilistan. They should also be ready to enforce electoral laws which Ganleys appears to be completely flaunting in Ireland where he has still failed to account for the funding for his Lisbon campaign.

Mary Gauci, former deputy leader of far-right political party Azzjoni Nazzjonali, has been announced leader of Libertas.eu Malta: the local branch of a newly formed pan-European party founded by Irish multi-millionaire Declan Ganley, by whose presence and eloquence Gauci was quickly upstaged at yesterday’s launch event.
A state-registered nurse by profession, Gauci will be contesting the 6 June European Parliament elections under the Libertas ticket. Ganley did not exclude the possibility of enrolling a second Maltese candidate on the new party’s list, but no there was no mention of names of other prospective candidates.
“The setting up of Libertas marks a historic moment,” Gauci said in her opening speech. “Our strength lies in that we are a pan-European party, across the 27 member states. The EU should be more democratic, and citizens of member states should remain citizens.”
Libertas was purposely set up to contest EP elections, with its primary aim being to reform European institutions so that more attention is given to individual member states, thus facilitating the pooling of sovereignty.
The political party finds its roots as a successful lobby group created to advocate a “No” vote against the Treaty of Lisbon referendum, held in Ireland last June.
Reportedly, the retired MEP Jens-Peter Bonde, a well-known Eurosceptic, was one of the main architects behind the lobby group’s upgrade to a European political party.
Among the rumoured MEP candidates running for Libertas abroad, one finds the French aristocrats Philippe de Villiers and Paul-Marie Couteaux – both associated with the Mouvement Pour la France, a far-right Eurosceptic political group advocating anti-Islamism.
But Ganley stressed that Libertas is neither a Eurosceptic party nor a far-right one. “We are pro-European and happy with the pooling of sovereignty. But European leaders have to be accountable,” he said. ”When all our candidates are announced, you will be surprised at the diversity of backgrounds in our list,” he said.
“There has been an attempt by people in Brussels to label us as Communists first, and then of having American interests, but both seemed to fail,” Ganley said in his reply to our questions.
The Irish entrepreneur, who is said to be personally worth around €300 million, is the chairman of a defence contracting company specialising in military telecommunications. It appears that a number of contracts he has with the Pentagon amount to at least $200 million.
“The public is not aware that the majority of laws are initiated in Brussels by unelected EU officials. Your parliament, along with many others, did not hold a debate before ratifying the Lisbon agenda. The signatories did not even read it. Your president will represent you as a European and will not ask you for a vote. We’ve got a problem and we need to fix it.”
Ganley said that if Malta has five seats at its disposal, across the EU Libertas will have many more.
“You need to elect a member in a party whose voice can be heard,” he said before describing other political blocs in the European parliament as “different parties sharing a photocopier and a coffee machine”.
“As we say in Ireland, ‘horses for courses’... and the Libertas horse is built for the European course,” he added. “We are going to be a voice they can’t ignore. We are not even there yet and they already hate us, and the reason for this is because they know that we are the agents of change and that we will be effective, and they’re terrified of this.”

Britain braces itself for a dose of ganley this week. Already over the weekend he has appeared on BBC's Politics Show, today Sky News's Europe Correspondent Greg Milam's blogs about Ganley's arrival noting:

An announcement is due tomorrow. Ganley says it is the way to build a bigger collective of those who are happy enough to be in Europe but feel the treaty hands over too much power to Brussels.

But it isn’t going to be easy. Libertas is embroiled in numerous controversies across Europe as it tries to assemble a network of candidates.

It has already denied offering money to Swedish Eurosceptic party Junilistan if it changed its name to ‘Junilistan-Libertas’.

And as it launches Libertas spin-offs in countries like Germany and Slovakia, there have been questions about funding and registration. Libertas itself has lashed out at Brussels, accusing it of a dirty tricks campaign.

This week also saw the announcement of Ganley's appointment of former US Air Force General Richard Myers, and former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff under George W. Bush's from 2001-2005 to the board of Declan Ganley's private military contracting firm, Rivada.

Myers currently serves as an external adviser to the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). This will no doubt reintroduce the issues raised about Ganley's campaign, personal and party finaces yet again. questions were raised last year inthe Eu parliamnet about Ganley's links with neocons and the CIA.
The CIA denied funding Libertas.
Libertas also denied they got CIA funds.

But where is Ganley getting 1 mil euros to offer to a Swedish partry? 1 mil plus for his No campaign in Ireland and whatver he is using to buy politiacl supporters in 27 EU states?

Who is paying for the salaries of Libertas employees like Lt. Col. Robin Matthews and former head of Europol Kevin O'Connell.

It would appear that Libertas are throwing millions of euros around. where did this cash come from? Libertas would maintain that it is all small donations from the paypal buttons on their official site. However a pan EU party with only 888 members on Facebook it is hard for an outsider to have confidence in the veracity the Libertas line.

The question, how much have you been paid? must also be asked of politicians who have joined with Libertas as the Swedish incident last week gives a disturbing insight into how Libertas get their supporters behind them (or not in the case of the whistleblowers at Junilistan).

Britains should be more worried about the appointment of their former top military man Baron Gurthrie to Ganley's Rivada board. Ganley now has two of the worlds most senior militray men from the recent past working for him in a private capacity.

Austria's oldest newspaper Wiener Zeitung reports online that independent MEP Hans-Peter Martin will not run for Libertas.

On Feb 19, 2009‎ Wiener Zeitung reported that Anita Kelly Libertas spokesperson in Brussles when asked if the candidate would be independent Austrian MEP Hans-Peter Martin, Kelly said: "Mr. Martin is a great supporter and friend of Libertas". However she would not confirm he would run. Ganley has been courting Martin for some time. Martin attended the Ganley funded Eurosceptics dinner for Vaclav Klaus in Dublin.

Will European voters support the purchase of their national eurosceptic parties by Libertas? Can any politicians who is currently planning to be in Rome on 25 March do so now without peple asking the obvious question
"What is their price tag"?

For a party claiming to seek democracy and transparency this latest dishonest and possibly criminal act by Libertas should prove to all how slippery secretive and dishonest they are.

Libertas and Irish minister discuss the Libertas attempt to bribe Swedish party with 1 million euro

John McGuirk said of Libertas' reported attempt to bribe a a party in Sweden to support Libertas was "Normal and not unusual " on Ireland's Newstalk106 Lunchtime show.
He agreed that Libertas representitives met with June List and that money was"of course" discussed. He further admitted that the figure of one million was likely to have been discussed by Jasper Katz of Libertas with the June List.

Irish minister for European Affiars Dick Roche replied " I am falling around the room laughing" (at that explaination)He continued: "Libertas is a scam.....................hovering up money." On McGuirk's statements he said "We are not going to get the truth from them (Libertas) today". he said that the attempt by Libertas "to buy over a political party with 3 MEPs was unprecedented in the European Union".

The issue of Libertas' use of MPs names against their permission in order to recieve EU funding was also discussed. Roche said that the whole affair needed to be investigated for fraud as it was one of several bizarre aand unprecendented incidents which showed the true nature of Libertas. The minister implied that the public will never get the truth from Libertas on these affairs. he made particular reference to Libertas' use of signitures without permission or consent in an attempt to get 200,000 euro from the EU.

McGuirk said "those guys signed the application for funding. "


This is a lie. The documents posted on the Libertas website are not applications for funding they appear to be membership application forms for Libertas. The circumstances which these signitures were obtained are also very murky and need to be investigated.

Declan Ganley's Libertas is trying to buy political parties across Europe. This blog has previously suggested that Ganley was offering cash to established parties to help brand Libertas as a genuine political party with real supporters. Libertas is in fact a highly funded private entity owned by Declan Ganley. Ganley neo con links are well known. The party is a a shell company awaiting like may of Ganley's other business enterprise. Libertas are a business that's goal is to purchase political power.

Libertas in fresh controversy over bid to recruit Swedish group

LIBERTAS BECAME embroiled in fresh controversy yesterday following its attempts to persuade a Swedish Eurosceptic party to merge with the organisation in Sweden.

Sören Wibe, leader of Junilistan (The June List), claims that representatives from anti-Lisbon Treaty party Libertas offered considerable sums of money, including almost €1 million on one occasion, if his party agreed to change its name to Junilistan-Libertas.

After the story appeared in the Swedish media earlier this week, Anita Kelly, a spokeswoman for Libertas, told Sweden’s state-funded radio station P1 that no such offer had been made. “We did not make any offer to any party to run with Libertas or anything like that. We have discussed budgets as we would with anyone, but money was not offered,” she said.

Libertas was registered as a political party by the Swedish Election Authority on Tuesday after the organisation gathered the 1,500 signatures required for registration.

Mr Wibe, whose party was formed the year after Swedish voters rejected the adoption of the euro in a 2003 referendum, told The Irish Times he had met with Libertas founder Declan Ganley in Sweden in January. The offers of financial assistance had come from Libertas representatives of Scandinavian origin on other occasions, and not from Mr Ganley, he added.

“One of my colleagues was offered 10 million kronor [about €900,000] for the party and, in other discussions, it was clear that sums of that size were available,” Mr Wibe said.

“I have at least a dozen witnesses who can verify that these approaches were made.”

Junilistan garnered 14 per cent of the vote in Sweden’s 2004 European elections and won three seats in the European Parliament out of the country’s allocation of 19. The party is a member of the Independence and Democracy grouping in Brussels.

Libertas intends to run candidates in all 27 member states in the European Parliament elections in June in an attempt to transform the ballot into a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty.

Mr Wibe said he was shocked by the nature of Libertas’s overtures to his party. “I believe [Libertas’s] behaviour was extremely unethical,” he said yesterday. “I was insulted. It would be extremely unethical for our party to be funded by a millionaire from another country. It goes against everything we stand for.”

Of Mr Ganley, he said: “I do believe that he means well, but I also believe he is not a politician. He doesn’t understand that doing politics is not the same as doing business.”

In a statement posted on its website, Junilistan said: “Politics is not money. Politics is credibility and being true to the message you deliver to your voters.”

Libertas did not return calls yesterday for comment.

also today on French TV Phillipe de Villiers claimed that his MPF are running for Libertas because they have the potential of taking control of the European parliament since they are running all countries. he was very vauge about his platform and could not directly answer questions about Ganley and Ganley's schemes.

Junilistan erbjöds miljoner för samarbete

Irländska partiet Libertas, som låg bakom att Irland röstade nej till EU:s nya fördrag, ställer upp också i det svenska EU-valet. Grundaren Declan Ganley erbjöd svenska Junilistan 10 miljoner kronor för att bli kompanjon.

– I princip lade man ett bud på oss. Man gav oss försäkringar om ganska omfattande ekonomiskt stöd, om vi skulle gå med på att förändra vårt namn till Junilistan - Libertas. Vi avvisade naturligtvis det omedelbart, säger Sören Wibe.

Varför?

– Vi är inte till salu. Det här strider mot allt vad vi tror på, att låta sig finansieras av en utländsk miljardär i ett politiskt parti, det tycker jag ju är ett erbjudande som är en direkt oförskämdhet, säger Wibe.

Junilistans ordförande Sören Wibe, som så sent som för någon månad sedan i Stockholm sedan träffade Libertas grundare Declan Ganley.

Enligt Wibe har Junilistan via en av Libertas representanter erbjudits tio miljoner kronor för att bli politiska kompanjoner med Libertas.

Två av Junilistans politiker, de före detta kristdemokraterna Björn von der Esch och Leif Danielsson, har dessutom tillfrågats om de vill ställa upp för Libertas.

Junilistans före detta medarbertare Jesper Katz är den som i dag hos valmyndigheten registrerat Libertas som parti i det svenska Europaparlamentsvalet.

Katz vill tona ner uppgifterna om ekonomiskt stöd till Junilistan.

– Det har funnits olika spekulationer om vad det skulle kosta att driva en kampanj. Det är dock inte samma sak som ett erbjudande.

Det var i december förra året som Libertas bestämde sig för att försöka ställa upp i Europaparlamentsvalet i EU:s samtliga tjugosju länder. Målet är att stoppa EU:s Lissabonfördrag som Irland i en folkomröstning sagt nej till.

En ny folkomröstning väntas i höst - en folkomröstning Libertas vill förekomma genom ett starkt resultat i årets Europaparlamentsval.
