Ganley press conference set for Sunday 13

RTE reports that Ganley will hold a press conference tomorrow . The failed political leader of a pan European far right party has been licking his wounds since June when his attempt to "take control of the EU parliament" was rebuffed in an embarrassing destruction of his party at the polls. Ganley who said that a vote for Libertas was a vote against Lisbon was shown the full extent of the people of Europe's dislike of his brand of far right politics. The one MEP elected under the Libertas banner, France's Viscount Phillipe de Villiers, immediately disowned Libertas and began an attempt to rebuild his MPF which had lost 2 other sitting MEPs in the polls.

Ganley branded a "snake oil salesman, self mythologiser and liar " by an Irish governmnet minister subsequently pulled out of his attempt to sue The Village magazine and therefore has allowed this description of himself to stand in law.

A spokesperson for Libertas has confirmed reports that Declan Ganley will be re-entering the debate on the Lisbon Treaty.

The spokesperson said it was expected that Mr Ganley would hold a press-conference tomorrow, to outline his reasons for his decisions.

Following his failure to get elected as an MEP during the European elections in June, Mr Ganley said he would not get involved in any second Lisbon Treaty referendum campaign.
